Pre-register to vote at 16. Vote at 18.

If you are 16 or 17 years you can use the “register to vote” link to preregister to vote online to be eligible at 18.

  • To ensure you are able to vote at the address you live at, check your registration at least 10 days before any election.

    Confirm your status reads: "ACTIVE" and that your name and address are correct. (If they are not, go to the next link.)

    If you are planning to vote in a Democratic primary, ensure your party enrollment is "DEMOCRAT" or "UNENROLLED". Only registered Democrats may participate in caucus elections.

  • If you are a new voter, or if your address or name is not up-to-date you can register or update your registration until August 22nd.

    If you have a MA drivers license you can do this online here. (Midnight 08/22/26 deadline)

    If you do not have a MA drivers license you must submit this form in-person.

    The Somerville Democratic Party will mail a registration form to anyone by request, simply fill out the "Contact" form and list "Need voter registration form."

  • You can now request a mail-in ballot online! Requesting a ballot does not require you to use it, it just gives you the option. Requesting a mail-in ballot is highly encouraged.
